Healthier Working Futures

The Healthier Working Futures Leeds project helped young adults, aged 16 to 25, to develop confidence, skills, interest and insight that enable them to take advantage of fulfilling employment opportunities in the health and care sector.

Who is the service for?

This project was a partnership of health, care and third sector partners who received funding from the UK Government through the UK Community Renewal Fund.

How we helped

Our skilled staff supported young people who were interested in working in the Health and Care Sector. This covered a large range of job opportunities from nursing, caring, support worker and portering roles to jobs that help manage, run and keep care services going including managerial, office-based and estate management roles.

We helped young people to:

  • learn more about roles in the sector.
  • develop their skills and confidence, and manage your wellbeing.
  • identify training opportunities.
  • link with people who work in these areas.
  • find job opportunities in the area.
  • write CV's, practice interview skills and get job ready.

The programme was delivered through a mixture of one-to-one support and group work.
